Distributed Responsibility

As a parent, I have discussed this problem for years. Many of the freedoms given by our government to children are foolish and parents should think twice about the legal consequences they (the parents) face. For example, I don’t let my children get driver’s licenses until they’re 18 so that they are legally accountable for their behavior in a vehicle. (FYI, It’s never been a problem.) Our government allows kids to possess and use firearms which, again, is completely unnecessary. Parents stupidly give their children permission to do things that they (the parents) are going to be held legally and financially accoubtable for. No, thanks.

“This case opens the door for parents to be held legally accountable, and reminds all parents of their responsibilities…the reality is that everybody is at risk and many people are responsible.”
