“I have been crucified with Christ, and the life I live now is not my own; Christ is living in me. I still live my human life, but it is a life of faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
I have been crucified with Christ, and the life I live now is not my own; Christ is living in me.
In choosing to be a Christian, I have believed in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. I believe this life to not be the time for the actualization of the happiness my soul seeks, but a time to work to gain that happiness. I have chosen to give this life back to God in exchange for the future life He offers, as Christ did. I have chosen to be crucified with Christ. The life I live is not seen as the end which I enjoy, but the means to the end I shall enjoy. In imitating Christ, and offering myself to serve His cause, Christ lives in and through me.
I still live my human life, but it is a life of faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
While this is true invisibly, between God and I, I am seen by men as living still in this world, but I am not living as others are. Knowing of God’s love and aware of the mistreatment returned for that love, I must give all that I have in gratitude. I must thank the Lord with my life, and the principal way I can do this isnby entrusting my eternal soul to Him, believing that He is good and that He is all that is to be sought. The desire for anything else is insulting to His love.
I feel, as a father, what God experiences from men. I want to be, to the Lord, the kind of son I would like to have.
