“In him do our hearts find joy. We trust in his holy name.” (Psalm 33)
We, Christians, believe that a loving personal God exists who created and preserves the world, who rewards goodness and punishes evil and who gives us the opportunity to live forever.
The thought of the existence of this God motivates us to do good and discourages us from doing evil.
The thought of the existence of this God makes us joyful, regardless of our present circumstances.
Why would anyone discourage a Christian from this religion?
The only reason, I believe, is that most Christians don’t practice this simple and true religion, but join it to a contradictory life seeking temporal pleasure, which does wrong to others “in Jesus’ name”.
True religion is a source of nothing but joy.
